Artist Biography

I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. Artists of every musical genre came there to lay down tracks in the numerous recording studios, or to play in the local music venues in hopes of being discovered. The years I spent in Nashville exposed me to many different types of music. It deserves its name, Music City USA.

Today, I am a professional music photographer. I live in Columbia, Maryland, with my lovely wife. Columbia is conveniently located between Baltimore and Annapolis, Maryland, and Washington, DC. These three towns offer diverse local music scenes, and they all have outstanding venues that host hundreds of regional, national, and international artists on a regular basis. Music of every genre is performed near me almost every night of the week, and I enjoy them all to one degree or another.

I strive to capture in my photographs the personality and energy of the artists, and the connection between the artists and their fans. Visit the Gallery section of my web site often. I continue to add fresh, exciting collections that document the numerous artists I photograph. All of my music photographs are available for licensing to online and print editorial outlets. I maintain a detailed database of every photograph I take and will happily search my database for photographs of the artist you seek. Equipment

This space previously detailed all of the equipment in my camera bag. Over the years, I have learned that the photographer takes the photographs - not the camera. If you wish to learn more about what equipment I used for a specific photograph or show, contact me directly and I will happily discuss this with you. My current brand of equipment is Nikon. I use this brand because I like the ergonomics of the camera bodies, I like the quality of build, and I like the quality of the images I am able to capture. That being said, many photographers capture equally good or better photographs with other brands. The camera does not take the photograph - the photographer takes the photograph.
